Music is vital to any believer’s worship. Psalm 100 says,
Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.
Summerton Baptist Church has many ways in which you can be a part of the music and worship. We have adult and children’s choirs that both parents and children can get involved with. We have a praise team and band for Sunday worship services. We have an interpretive movement group. If you like to sing, play an instrument, or you’re interested in the interpretive movement, then contact our worship leader Martha Jenkinson. The Lord deserves to be praised with all kinds of instruments:
Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with the stringed instruments and organs. Praise hi upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord” (Psalm 150)
